The Road Less Traveled

Off the Beaten Path

One of my favorite hobbies (which I can't do as often as I'd like) is international travel. But I don't like to go to busy tourist centers, or places everyone knows about. I prefer the "out of the way" places steeped in history: Castle ruins out in the middle of nowhere, small towns at the edge of the earth, that little pub that's been around since the middle ages.

Obviously, you can tell by the page design that my favorite country to visit is England. :-)

On the left are links to a few of my favorite places.

Places I've Been

As of 2021, I've traveled to the following countries:

  • England
  • Mexico
  • Canada
  • Belize

I've traveled through Yorkshire to the Scottish border, I've climbed to the top of Mayan pyramids in Belize, I've seen the Winter Carnival in Quebec City, and I've buzzed around Cozumel Mexico on a motor scooter. When the pandemic is over, I look forward to seeing more of the world.
